For a sustainable future, intelligent forms of mobility are necessary. To promote the developments and pool the synergies from both fields, the Automotive and IT Clusters of Business Upper Austria, the business agency of the Upper Austrian government, have launched the Connected Mobility Initiative (ICM).
For the development of new services, the expertise of the automotive and IT branches is required. With the intelligent linkage and exchange of experience, existing products or services can be digitised and new business models emerge. The declared aim is to develop new technologies that move Austria forward and lead to the creation of a new focal area for business and industry here.
The feedback from the first plenary meetings carried a clear message: most of the participating companies will be turning to topics such as big data, the internet of things, connected cars (car2X), autonomous cars, cloud and mobility services in the near future. IT connections and the use of smart solutions in and around vehicles are becoming increasingly widespread. This is a market opportunity that must be taken.
